EDWARD SAID: BETWEEN WORLDS
We’re excited to share that EDWARD SAID: BETWEEN WORLDS, Maiken Baird’s intimate portrait of Palestinian-American scholar Edward Said will celebrate its U.S. premiere at New York Film Festival!
After its world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival in September, the film will screen in New York at the festival’s 64th edition. Tickets go on sale Tuesday, September 15.

THE ILLUSION OF AN EVERLASTING SUMMER
Congratulations to THE ILLUSION OF AN EVERLASTING SUMMER director Alessandra Sanguinetti and producer Julia Solomonoff for winning the Golden Leopard and Swatch First Feature awards at Locarno Film Festival!
The film won the top prize in the Filmmakers of the Present Competition, and the Swatch First Feature award, given to a first-time feature filmmaker with the best debut film at the festival. Read the awards announcement here.
ILLUSION has also garnered great press. Alessandra sat down with Variety and Business Doc Europe to talk about the film, her relationship with Guille and Belinda, and the documentary’s beginnings as a photography project. The film also received wonderful reviews from The Hollywood Reporter and the International Cinephile Society.
Leslie Felperin at The Hollywood Reporter called the film “luminous” and “indelible”, and Abby Laing of the International Cinephile Society said the documentary is “charming yet clear-eyed” and “a striking feature debut.”

THE ILLUSION OF AN EVERLASTING SUMMER will screen at the San Sebastian International FIlm Festival next month, and SEIZED will screen at Sidewalk Fest on August 30!

We are slowing down for the end of the summer and entering our annual pause of film submissions. Submissions of LOIs and Full Proposals will close on Thursday, August 20 and will reopen on September 21. If you’ve already submitted an LOI or full proposal, it is still on our queue to review, but please note that our response time may take a little longer during this period.
