TELEVISION EVENT
We’re excited to announce that The Film Desk will be releasing TELEVISION EVENT in theaters this summer. The theatrical release begins in NYC with a run at Film Forum starting Friday, May 30.

APOCALYPSE IN THE TROPICS
Netflix has set a date for the worldwide launch of Petra Costa’s APOCALYPSE IN THE TROPICS, which will premiere on the platform on Monday, July 14. The documentary, which looks at the rising influence of evangelicalism on Brazilian politics, premiered at Venice and has screened at festivals around the world including Telluride, New York Film Festival, IDFA, CPH DOX and Hot Docs. DC/DOX
DC/DOX, Washington D.C.’s premier documentary festival, is back for its third edition on June 12-15. We are thrilled that IP films APOCALYPSE IN THE TROPICS, BABY DOE, FACING WAR, FOLKTALES, MOVE YA BODY: THE BIRTH OF HOUSE, and VIKTOR were all selected. SHEFFIELD DOC/FEST
The UK’s biggest documentary festival, Sheffield Doc/Fest, takes place June 18-23. APOCALYPSE IN THE TROPICS (Debates), MARLEE MATLIN: NOT ALONE ANYMORE (People & Community), and MOVE YA BODY: THE BIRTH OF HOUSE (Rhythms) will all celebrate their UK premieres at the festival.
