CPH:DOX

Tommy Gulliksen’s FACING WAR will have its world premiere tomorrow as the opening film of CPH:DOX. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and former NATO Secretary General and current Norwegian Finance Minister Jens Stoltenberg will discuss the film and the future of the NATO at the Opening Gala after the premiere. FACING WAR
Directed by Tommy Gulliksen
Produced by Anne Marte Blindheim, Danielle Turkov Wilson

As Russia’s war in Ukraine rages on, U.S. President Joe Biden persuades Jens Stoltenberg to extend his tenure as NATO Secretary General for one final year. During a visit to Kyiv, Stoltenberg vows that the Alliance will stand by President Zelensky ‘for as long as it takes.’

But as Western support falters and divisions among allies deepen, his promise hangs in the balance. All NATO decisions must be unanimous. Stoltenberg must navigate the conflicts and rally all the member nations behind him.

With unprecedented access to NATO’s inner sanctum, this film takes you inside the high-stakes power struggles between global leaders like Macron, Biden, Zelensky, Erdoğan, and Orbán. The film tells a story about the art of diplomacy in a time where safety and democracy is at risk. Can Stoltenberg keep his word to Zelensky?
