The Latest from Impact Partners – June 2

IP FILMS ON NETFLIX

We’re thrilled to announce that Netflix has picked up A KING LIKE ME and THE WHITE HOUSE EFFECT as part of a unique hybrid licensing deal.

Directed by Matthew Henderson, A KING LIKE ME is an uplifting portrait of the Zulu Club, New Orleans’ first Black Mardi Gras krewe, as they work to bring the Zulu parade back to the streets for Mardi Gras Day 2022 after losing krewe members to gun violence and COVID. A KING LIKE ME will launch on Netflix later this month on Juneteenth.

Directed by Bonni Cohen, Jon Shenk, and Pedro Kos, THE WHITE HOUSE EFFECT explores the gripping drama that unfolded inside George H.W. Bush’s White House after scientists warned the country about global warming. THE WHITE HOUSE EFFECT launches on October 31.

TRIBECA FILM FESTIVAL

In NYC this weekend? Be sure to catch the World Premiere of WE ARE PAT premiering in the Spotlight+ section at Tribeca Film Festival.

WE ARE PAT

Directed by Rowan Haber

Produced by Caryn Capotosto

WE ARE PAT is a feature length documentary exploring the evolution of gender identity and comedy from the 90s until today through the lens of the iconic SNL sketch, It’s Pat. It follows the first ever cohort of trans and non-binary comedians as they support each other through the intense political landscape and rise to stardom. Trans and non-binary comedians and culture-makers reimagine and rewrite the original Pat sketches, using camp and humor to reclaim and re-envision an iconic character in American comedy.

SUPPORT VIKTOR

Impact Partners’ VIKTOR continues its strong festival run (next up, DC DOX!). As director Olivier Sarbil and team bring this film out into the world, they want the main protagonist, Viktor Korotovskyi, to be a part of the journey. They’re currently looking for support on their GoFundMe page so that they can continue to share the film with global audiences, and, critically, so that they can send Viktor to screenings where his story is being told. To learn more about this initiative, Viktor’s story, and ways to support, visit the film’s GoFundMe page.
