APOCALYPSE IN THE TROPICS
Deadline recently released the trailer for APOCALYPSE IN THE TROPICS, Petra Costa’s cinematic investigation into the rise of Christian nationalism in Brazil and its threats to democracy. 

This timely film is set to open in select theaters in the U.S. and UK on July 11, and is premiering worldwide on Netflix on July 14. If you find yourself in the NYC area this week, you can also catch the film at IFC Center on Wednesday as part of DOC NYC Selects.

FOLKTALES 
IndieWire premiered the trailer for FOLKTALES, Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady’s coming-of-age film that follows teenagers at a traditional “Folk High School” in the wilds of northernmost Norway, who must rely only on themselves and a pack of loyal sled dogs as they take the daunting step from childhood to adulthood. Check out the exclusive announcement here.

Kachi Benson’s MOTHERS OF CHIBOK continues its global festival run, playing at the 27th Encounters South African International Documentary Festival where it won the Al Jazeera Award for Best African Feature Documentary. IP SUBMISSIONS UPDATE

We’ve recently updated our eligibility guidelines for submissions. Before submitting a Letter of Inquiry, please confirm your film meets the following requirements:

  • Films must have both a director and producer attached.
  • Either the director or lead producer must have completed a feature-length film.
  • The full budget to complete and deliver the film should be in the range of $300,000 – $1.5 million.
  • Impact Partners focuses on social issue documentaries. Please refrain from submitting if your film does not address an urgent societal problem.
