About the Position

Impact Partners is looking for a Director of Development who will manage and develop the workflow, organizational, and communications systems for the Development Team.

Type: Full time

Hybrid: Minimum of 2 days per week in office (with additional days for training)

Office Location: Dumbo, Brooklyn, NY

Compensation: $85,000-$100,000 plus Benefits (see below)

Reports to: VP of Production

Who We Are Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is creative, organized, and collaborative with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the documentary industry, either producing, programming, curating, or similar.

You must be a team player with exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic. You aren’t afraid to roll up your sleeves and pitch in wherever needed. You’re a self-starter who can problem solve and has exceptional attention to detail. You’re knowledgeable about documentary film and you love it!  You’re someone who is eager to join a small, dynamic, and friendly team that is dedicated to great filmmaking.

Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage workflow, processes, communications, and databases for Development Team, ensuring everything runs in a timely manner, is organized, and efficient.
  • Manage film submissions process and database.
  • Review film submissions and identify strong projects for consideration. 
  • Maintain and develop relationships throughout the documentary industry. 
  • Travel to attend conferences, film festivals, pitching forums, and film markets representing IP.
  • Provide logistical support and creative input to current IP films. 
  • Write film reports, summaries, and updates for investors, and support IP marketing efforts.
  • Plan, program, and attend investor facing events in New York and other locations, including the Sundance Film Festival. 
  • Collaborate to program and execute IP Producing Fellowship program. 

Qualifications/Requirements

  • 3-6 years of experience in the documentary industry at a production company, film festival, nonprofit, agency, or equivalent
  • Self-starter who takes initiative
