Fellowship FAQ

Here are some of the Frequently Asked Questions we've received about the Fellowship's nomination and application process. If you have any other questions not included here, please email us at fellowship@impactpartnersfilm.com.

When will the workshops be?

As the workshops are dependent on our guest luminaries' availability, we will not have a confirmed schedule in advance. The first workshop will be in spring 2020.

Can I Skype or call into the workshops?

No, all fellows will need to attend the workshops in person to allow for a greater level of intimacy and privacy. Because of this, all applicants must be based in the New York area or willing to travel to all 3 of the workshops.

Are international producers eligible?

We welcome applicants from all over the world! However, all applicants must be willing to travel to our office in Brooklyn, NY for all of the workshops.

Can I apply with my producing partner?

While we welcome producers who have worked together to apply for the same year's cohort, we consider all applicants as individuals. We require individual nomination and application forms for all applicants.

Do I need to be nominated first to apply?

No. This year applicants do not need to be nominated before applying. However, they will be required to have someone submit a recommendation form on their behalf. The recommendation and the application can be submitted in either order.

Does it help me to receive more than one recommendations?

We only require one recommendation per applicant. However, you are welcome to ask additional colleagues to send in supplementary recommendations and we will take them into consideration when evaluating your application.

Am I eligible to apply if my only documentary was a short?

Yes, as long you have worked on at least one documentary film of any length in the role of Producer, Line Producer, Co-Producer or Associate Producer, you are eligible to apply.

What if my only film is incomplete?

If you fulfill the other application requirements, but your film has not been completed, you are still eligible to apply. However, we ask that you please include an explanation of why the film has not been completed.
